Catching up!

Whew!  I have been going non-stop for a few days now!  And things don't seem to be quieting down anytime soon!

This past Thursday, Paige had school, and the boys and I took a walk and had a little picnic at the playground.

Then Thursday night, we went with some friends of ours to the Zac.Brown.Band concert.  It was amazing.  Amazing!  One of my favorite bands.

Friday, I had to drive downtown to pick up my race packet, so I left the boys with the nanny, and Paige and I got a mani/pedi, grabbed some lunch, and did our errands.

We then went to a cookout with all the kids and some of our best friends.  And I loved every second of rocking Braley to sleep.  (we rock all 3 of our kids every single night, still!)

Saturday was a family day!  Paige and David did some puzzles...

We worked in the yard a little...

Got my car cleaned...

Went to sweet Preslie's birthday party, then had another cookout with friends!  I LOVE summer.

We normally switch off rocking the boys (meaning, I do Jack one night, then Braley the next, and David does the other.  Luckily we have 2 rocking chairs!  One in Paige's room and one in Jack's room.  If you are wondering, we let Paige play on the iPad while we do this, then she gets rocked/goes to bed when the boys are down.) but I guess I did Braley 2 nights in a row!  Love that curly hair.

David went to the Thunder game that night, but I had to pass because I had to be up at 4:30 for my half-marathon on Sunday morning!

My running buddy and me!

There were almost 27,000 runners there.  Amazing.

My unofficial time : )  I was very happy with this, though I was hoping to finish in 2 hours or less.  Those dang 4 minutes keep creeping up in my mind and I can think back to how I could have easily shaved them off!  But the good news is that I don't plan on stopping and am going to keep getting faster.

Of course, David had to work when I got home, so despite having just ran over 13 miles and only gotten a few hours of sleep, I had to take care of 3 rug rats all day.  But I think they knew I was tired because I went to move some laundry over and came back to the kitchen to find them like this...

Today, back to the business as usual!  We went outside to play, got the water table out, and instead of grabbing the boys suits, I thought this would be much easier ; )

Zoo day

Paige was out of school today, and I wanted to do something fun.  She was stuck in the car for over 2 hours yesterday when we picked up David from eye surgery, so I was trying to think of a fun outdoor activity.  A girlfriend of mine was going to the zoo, and it was a gorgeous day, so I said we must come!  The boys, being 17 months old, are not really digging the zoo right now.  They hate being cooped up in their stroller, and who could blame them?  I had a sitter come to the house so they could play here and get a nap, and Paige and I headed out around 10 AM.

Love her.  Love her!

First stop was climbing on the elephant!  Of course!

Our zoo has a nice children's zoo.  It is new, clean, and the perfect place for a 3 year old.

Paige loved the fish.  She and fun picking out which ones were babies, which were mommies and daddies, and which were trying to find lunch.

She was only moderately interested in petting the goats.  Which is pleasing to me, as it really grosses me out.

They have a section with a waterfall and a rock creek, where the kids take off their shoes and can splash around.  Perfect on this hot day!  It looks like it is muddy, but it is just red rocks.

Paige's favorite animal exhibit in the big zoo is the snakes.  We spent at least 20 minutes in the snake cave.

But her favorite part of the day (besides a lunch of chicken fingers and fries!) was easily the carousel ride.

This was her first time on a carousel.  It was one of those moments for me that remind me how awesome being a parent is.  The look of pure joy on her face is something I will remember forever.

I'd say she is a fan of carousel rides!

Last stop was the playground.

What a fun day!  I am thankful for the opportunity to get this time with my children.

Our day in iPhone pics

Took the kiddos to the playground for a picnic and some playtime!  It was beautiful out, and we had a big blanket, turkey sandwiches, blueberries, strawberries, and m&m cookies.  That, and the 3 most wonderful blessings in the world = all I ever wanted : )

We walked over to see the ducks, and they were everywhere!  Including a momma with several babies.  Paige was fascinated with them, and the momma was getting a little nervous with this curious 3 year old around, so I pulled her back.  I get the protective momma instinct!

Paige used to nap in whatever she was wearing that day.  But the last few months, she will only nap in jammies.  She is particular about which jams, too.  I have to go through the list several times ("do you want to wear your cupcake jammies?" "no" "your ice cream jammies?" "no" "your zebra jammies?" "no") until one jumps out at her and she deems it worthy to wear.  Today, zebra jammies won.  Then we rinse and repeat after baths before bedtime.

Kind of a funny about David/possibly men in general.   He had this eye surgery today, to remove this small growth on his eye.  He has assured me for weeks that he can drive himself home, despite me asking repeatedly.  Today around 10 AM, he emails me (emails - not calls) and says, "hey, I actually need a ride home.  It is on the south side of town (an hour in traffic) and you need to pick me up at 4:30."

Ugggh!  So I had to get the kids up from their naps, load them in the car, and truck it to the opposite side of town.

Being the wonderful wife that I am, after I got all 4 of them fed dinner, I ran up and got the patient some necessities : )
