My little monkey loves school!

I wanted to get some cute pictures of Paige this morning before school, since she is 17 months today. However, all this little monkey wanted to do was climb in the car! She can climb in our huge car by herself!

Then, when we got to school, I tried to get a few of her. There are some pretty trees and benches outside the church. But all this bug wanted to do was run up to the doors and bang on them! Let me in!!

She loves school so much. She doesn't cry at all at drop-off anymore, and her teachers tell me that she is doing so well. We have seen her verbal skills take off, and I think a lot of it has to do with being with the other kids. I couldn't be more thrilled that we enrolled her in this program.

I want to go to school!!!

So today marks: 17 months old for my little lady bug, and...drumroll...8 weeks exactly until my C-Section! I am feeling more and more confident (terrified) that we actually will go the distance.

GD diet is going well. I haven't had a reading above where it is supposed to be yet. I was told that the fasting level is the one that matters the most. That is the one that, if elevated, has the most detrimental effects on the baby. Mine was in a great range this morning, so that makes me happy. So a good day on the books for everyone today!

Met with the nutritionist today

And the GD diet really isn't going to be much different than I already eat. I am alloted 65 carbs per meal + snack (so for breakfast and my mid-morning snack, I can have 65 carbs total). I don't even think I could eat that much if I tried! She tested my blood sugar 2 hours after lunch, and she was hoping for it to be below 120. It was a 77. So I am really not worried about this.

She did say that I don't eat nearly enough protein for twins, so I will be working on that. I need to incorporate some form of protein at every meal/snack.

French fries aren't out for me at all - I just can't have them alone. I need to have a hamburger patty as well. Now if I were to eat a hamburger, bun and all, plus fries, that would be too much. So those are little things I will have to change.

And no more Sonic slushes for me. That is too much sugar for my body to process at one time.

So I'll be logging my blood sugar readings (pricking my finger wasn't bad at all. I barely felt it) 4 times a day - once right when I wake up, then 2 hours after every meal. I eat my snack after I get that reading. If my sugar is on the low side, then my snack needs to have a substantial amount of carbs in it. If it is on the high side (say - above 105), then my snack should be more focused on protein.

It isn't rocket science. And I'm fine with giving up ice cream and cookies...so I don't think this is a big deal at all.

The ladybug spent the day with my dad today so I could go to my appointment and the grocery store. She should be back home any minute now and I'm watching the window hoping to see my dad's car! I miss her!

29 weeks, parties, and football!

29 weeks. Holy crap. I promise that isn't a beach ball under my dress!

Appointment today (with growth scan):
Both boys weigh 3 pounds - with tons of hair! The ultrasound tech was even laughing at how much hair these boys have. I love it!

Fluid looks great

Cervix: long and closed

Weight: +24 pounds

BP: fine

Measuring: 36-37 weeks

I failed my 3 hour test, diagnosing me with Gestational Diabetes. I am actually fine with this. I know I can control it with diet. It will suck to have to drive by every Sonic I see without stopping in - but I'll manage.

I start bi-weekly Non-Stress tests in 2 weeks. I feel like I will be at the hospital nonstop! I hope these last 8 weeks fly by.

My Sooners barely showed up on Saturday - but a win is a win!

We had a blast celebrating Logan's first birthday yesterday!
Campbell came over and was splashing all in Paige's water glass. I love Paige's face here...she is like - Dad! I was drinking that! The girlies had fun playing and I had fun chatting with some of my great mommy friends!

Paige LOVES cupcakes. Even crumbs from a cup.

Daddy introduced her to rice crispy treats.

They had a steel drum band playing. It was a lot of fun.

Random: Paige and I like to go outside and wait for daddy's car to pull up in the drive way. Here she is seeing him come up the street:

Love this little girl!

Wish me luck on my new job of eating no sugar! This will be tough for a momma with a huge sweet tooth! And pray that my little body holds up and my back doesn't give out supporting these two growing boys!

A day with my love

Paige and I had the whole day to ourselves today. We went to the grocery store in the morning. Paige was entertaining all the other shoppers by waving and saying, "Hi!" to everyone.

We came home and had lunch and nap time. Her naps are getting shorter and shorter, much to my chagrin. But she sleeps around 13 hours at night, so I don't complain.

We then went to the park and to visit our friend, Logan! I heart Logan's momma - Tia.

We love Hafer.Park in Edmond. It is beautiful and has several different play areas for kids.
It was a lovely, albeit a bit hot, day here in the 405.

Paige was fascinated with this little duck thing!

Her face melts my heart. Hence, the 476 pictures I took of just her face today.

The days of summer are winding down. Thank the Good Lord.

A lot happens when you go a few days without updating!

Tailgate: week 2! Another successful tailgate and Sooner victory!

Momma was in charge of bath time yesterday because David has been working so much. I love getting all this time with my love bug, but I am very tired at the end of the day!

Bug is still crying when dropped off at school. Breaks my heart - but I know what I need to do is keep taking her and hope that she grows out of this quickly.

28 weeks!! I know I say this every week - but time is flying. I have an appointment on Friday for my 3 hour glucose test (yep - failed the first). Then Monday, I go for another growth scan and cervix check.
My belly is always contoured some strange way. One of the boys is so low and transverse, so he makes some very interesting shapes.
Puppies crashed out in bed : )

Here is what twins look like in the womb at 28 weeks. However, neither of mine are head-down. One, like I said, is low and transverse (meaning laying horizontally). The other one is completely breach and tends to favor my right side.

I can't remember if I updated here or not, but my C-Section date moved to November 18th (37w3d). They wanted me to come on a Thursday so I could check out on Sunday. That is the way they like to schedule C-Sections if possible. I still don't think I am going to make it that far. I am thinking one week before then. Don't know why - just a feeling.

Either way - 9 weeks or less to go! Madness!

Sprinkle and boys' room progress

A huge thank you to Adrienne and Michelle for organizing this lovely dinner in honor of my sweet boys! I am so lucky to have great friends and a fun night celebrating my newest little loves.

Adrienne (left) is 19 weeks pregnant with her second (first turns 1 late December!) Michelle and I were pregnant at the same time with our firsts. On that note - a huge thank you to my awesome husband who watched Michelle's little boy, Ethan and Paige so us girlies could go out and have a fun night! Michelle's husband works out of town several days a month.

All the ladies! My mom and grandmother are in the back row. Although you probably couldn't even tell which one my mom is because she looks like all of us young girls : )

Gosh - I can't even believe how blessed I am with these sweet friends. We got SO much stuff for our little boys! Towels, clothes, adorable burp clothes, diapers, wipes, gift cads, blankets, and even 2 pairs of tiny golf shoes!

I loved these little hand towels. One for each boy, of course!

Yay for tiny OU clothes!

I LOVE hooded towels on little babies. I think these are adorable. It was so funny getting 2 of everything! I love it!!
My sweet friends from my CHK workout group.

This is the WORLDS most unflattering angle and a horrible picture of me. But I had to include it because it is with one of my best friends - Brooke. Brooke is 5 months pregnant with a little boy too!! We are so excited that our boys will grow up together!

But - how different the bump is of a lady who is 7 months pregnant with twins compared to 5 months with a singleton.
Brooke, my momma, Elizabeth

Now for some nursery pictures! I took these yesterday so they don't include some of the fun nursery things I got at dinner.

Our glider! Needs to be put up on the swivel thing and the ottoman is in Paige's room for the time being...

Braley's crib
My wall letters came in! I love how they turned out.
The colors don't show up well here, but they are blue, brown, and tan.

Jack's crib

I think it is funny how similar the boys' room is to Paige's. What can I say...I like polka dots and stripes!

I am thrilled with how it is all coming together!

This is the start of another busy weekend in our house. Tonight, David and his tailgate crew are spending the night camping out in their tailgate. They like to do it once a season. Brooke is spending the night with me because I hate to stay alone! We are going to stay in and probably watch bad TV all night : )

Florida State is visiting Norman this weekend. We will head down to the tailgate around 8:30 or so. Our kick-off is at 2:30. Boomer!

Then Sunday, I am getting a spa day! David is keeping Paige all day so I can get a prenatal massage, mani/pedi, and perhaps do a bit of shopping if I am feeling up for it.

The weeks are flying fast and the weekends are hectic! Before we know it, it will be time to head to the hospital.
