10 months

10 months old! Totally generic line: I can't believe how fast time is going. How are we less than 2 months away from their first birthday party? Where did my little babies go?

At 10 months old, the babies are:

Wearing size 12-18 months
Size 4 diapers
Taking an hour nap in the morning, a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon, and sleep 12 hours at night. Yes, I'm lucky!

All about Braley James:
He is my sleeper (they both are, but Braley more so). I have to wake up from every nap and most mornings. His afternoon naps are always closer to 3 hours, where Jack is closer to 2. And if I didn't wake him, who knows how long he would sleep!

Lest you think I have it way too easy with these kids, let me tell you about Braley. He decided he is over bottles about a month ago. And he won't drink anything other than water in his sippy. So, in order to get him the formula he needs, I have to sneak it in oatmeal and fruit purees. He is also not quite ready for table foods, although we are practicing. He still has a very strong gag reflex, so he is on all purees. I am not too worried about him, though. He still isn't crawling with this stomach off the floor, and I think those two things go hand in hand.

He has this laugh that will melt your heart in an instant. His favorite songs are the itsy bitsy spider, this little light of mine, and if you're happy and you know it. He loves music class (when the kids sit in a semi-circle and face me and I attempt singing). His little face lights up and he shakes his head along.

He is babbling very well. He is an intelligent little baby - a problem solver. And very curious.

I love him so much!

All about Jack David:
Jack is a moving machine! He will be walking before we know it. He crawls, pulls up, walks all around furniture - and if he wants to get somewhere, he will get there! He is also babbling, but not as much as Braley. He is very vocal - lots of loud talking when he is happy. And he is the biggest momma's boy. If I leave his sight, he throws his head back in dramatic form and cries. He is in the height of separation anxiety, which is cute and sad at the same time. He hates being left.

He is on pretty much all table foods. He at a whole banana yesterday! He likes quesadilla, pancakes, turkey, cheese, grapes, cantaloupe, yogurt, and broccoli. He is definitely over purees. He spits them out if I try.

He doesn't really have the attention span for music class. When I start singing, he crawls away, but I see him moving his shoulders to the beat with a smile on his face. He just can't sit still.

He is very attached to David and me. Where as I feel like Braley is cool as long as someone (anyone) is holding him, Jack is very partial to his mom and dad.

I am crazy about this little guy.

I know it is always going to be a struggle for me to not compare them.

When they were tiny, Braley was a great napper and Jack sucked at it.
Braley is taking his sweet time on mastering crawling and standing, where as Jack is kicking butt on those.
Braley is inquisitive - trying to find objects that are hidden, where as Jack would give up and crawl to something else.

And it goes on and on. I must always remember that they are two totally different babies! They will develop at different paces.

I am just thankful that they are perfectly healthy, doing what they need to be doing. I love them so much!
