Mother's Day weekend

Just wrapping up a lovely weekend!  I'm sad it is already Sunday night, though.  When David asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day, I told him that I just wanted him to spend the entire weekend with me!  No going to work!  Of course, I know that is ultimately out of his control, but he did oblige : )

We started with a trip to the zoo on Saturday!  The boys loved the children's zoo and splashing in the creek.

Then we had to go down for a ride on the carousel.  Paige insists on riding the jaguar.  Luckily there are a few on the carousel, because it seems the jag is the preferred animal of many kids.

Saturday night, we had a sitter and we went out for dinner and drinks.  Then David made me brownies when we got home : )

Today was breakfast, errands, David cleaning out my car for me (love him!), and a trip to Mele and Papa's for dinner and playing!

Had to get a few photos of my loves in their Mother's Day bests before we left:

Paige's new shoes.  She is obsessed and wants to wear them all the time.  This little girls love of clothes and shoes is making me a little nervous!  She is only 3!

Paige and her sweet cousin, Stella.  Our family has been pretty busy expanding!  We calculated that since Ava (my oldest niece) was born in 2008, my mom has had a grandchild on average every 9 months.  Of course, I realize having twins in there drives it up - but still!  That is a lot of babies : )  My parents are blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren.

Love my sweet Ava.  They are moving to Tulsa (about a 1.5 hour drive) tomorrow.  My brother is embarking on a new career and of course I wish them all the best.  But we will miss having them down the street.

This is my 4th Mother's Day, and it is still surreal to me that I'm being celebrated and not locked in my bathroom crying.  There are all kinds of mothers out there.  Those who have several children here with them.  Those who have lost children.  Those women who have children but have lost their own mothers.  Those who are waiting for the right time to try.  Those who have been trying with no success.  And those who tried and tried, and decided to stop trying and live with no children.  For some, this day is pure bliss.  For some, it is bittersweet.  And for some, it is absolute torture.  Praying for all women today.
