zoo trip

Beautiful fall day here, and we took full advantage by going to the zoo!  One of Paige's school friends and her mom met us, and thankfully, David was able to take a long lunch and come too!  

My kids sure do love a petting zoo.  Not sure where they get that!  Neither David nor myself are animal lovers.  At all.

Jack was most interested in playing with his truck.  And, don't tell him, but we left it at the zoo.  Oops.  Looks like I'll be on the hunt for another black truck soon.

And I was glad we walked all the way over to the elephants just so the kids could play with this water fountain!

We had a great time, followed by short naps, a little afternoon party, a trip to my folks house, and out to dinner.  I'm beat!

OU/TX weekend and back to real life!

David and I and some of our friends took a road trip down I-35 southbound to Dallas!  This is one of my favorite weekends a year.  

We got up bright and early Friday morning when our nanny got here and got on the road!

We got lunch, did some shopping, and grabbed a cocktail.

then headed out for a night on the town!

We went to the fair early Saturday morning before the 11 am kickoff.  

And we were nervous for exactly 10 minutes in this game.  

We got up early and stayed up all game!  Nothing makes us happier on this weekend than a good old fashion Texas beat down!  BOOMER!!!

Came back to our hotel and got to rest and watch football for a few hours before we headed out for dinner!

We got up early this morning and headed home.  We were all ready to get back to our kids.  

I love little weekends away like that, especially one that is fun from start to finish - but real life is a million times better!  After naps today, we spent this gorgeous afternoon at the park.  

This guy doesn't love his little girl or anything...

Back to routine this week!  Have a good one!
