This weekend has come and gone in a flash, and I hate that! We celebrated the head of the Griffith clan turning 30! It hit me that I remember David's 20th birthday. Has it been 10 years since we met?
In 10 years, we both graduated college, got engaged, got jobs, got married, built a house, countless cycles of fertility treatments, 2 IVFs, 2 pregnancies, 2 c-sections, 2 additional major surgeries for me, David got his MBA, we have traveled to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Alaska, New York - to name a few, and we are raising 3 kids. That is a lot of life packed into 10 years, no? I can't wait to see what is in store for our next 10!
Saturday, the birthday boy headed out early to play golf. The kids and I pulled the water table under the patio and were able to play outside for a few hours!
Saturday night, we had a dinner party at one of his favorite restaurants, then David and I went alone to see the batman movie. We had such a fun and special night.
Sunday, we went to church and lunch, came home for naps, then woke up and went to the swimming pool! Came home for cake and pizza...
My homemade cake : ) I get an A for effort, right?? It was actually really good!!
Yes, we make Paige sit in her high chair when she eats pizza and cake. Girlfriend is messy.
After singing to daddy and eating cake, we went down to my grandparents. Bless them, they got the kids this little baby pool. Of course you know the Griffith kids and they stripped down and jumped right in!
Amazing weekend celebrating David with our family and friends!
I had to return some sunglasses, so Paige and I made a little date day of it - gym, lunch, and mall!
As you can see, being outside right now is not an option.
So indoor activities it is!
When we do make a quick run outside to water, we can't stay long because these boys escape, run down the driveway and over into the road they are working on.
I went to dinner with a girlfriend last night, and had to get a few pictures with my girl before I left. She kept asking, "mommy, can I come with you? I want to come with you!" : ( broke my heart to tell her no.
This is the last week of summer school before a month off. Insert panicked mom here! I don't know how I am going to keep these kids occupied in this heat! But I know we will manage. I'm already planning on library story time, several play dates, and even thinking of joining the Y.
Monday, we went and fed the ducks.
Salt and vinegar chips, lol. That was all I had! Hope the ducks like them.
We have had great fun with a new surprise we got in the mail! Thanks, Mele and Papa!
At 20 months, I think these boys are very talented : )
And Paige loves to paint.
I asked her what she painted, and she said, "an ocean!"
All of a sudden, Paige has started taking real care of her baby. Meaning, she needs to eat regular meals, take naps, have her diaper changed. She got upset in the car yesterday because we didn't have a car seat for her, and "but mommy, it's the LAW! She has to buckle up for safety." She settled on being okay that baby was in her lap and would be safe. : /
Braley, who watches everything Paige does, has started taking care of baby too. Patting her when she was trying to take her nap.
Then you have Jack, my bulldozer, all boy, tornado of destruction...yeah, he doesn't take care of baby.
But he does let his brother snuggle up on him from time to time. Be still, my heart : )
I ran downstairs to put dinner in the oven, and came back up to them happily playing. Together! I find it annoying that when I am with them, organizing their play, doing the referee thing - they fight, wine, cry, battle for my attention. But when I leave them alone, they do great together! I'm guessing that is normal.
Braley is just the sweetest little guy.
And Paige has started co-sleeping in her baby's crib.
We did convince her to get in her own bed, but baby could sleep with her. I love sneaking photos of the kids when they are sleeping. Precious girl.
I am going to use my last day of summer school to go to the gym, pop in the grocery store, then come home and enjoy the silence! I thought about going to lunch, or shopping, or something I really can't do with the kids. But I think a few hours of peace and quiet is just what I want to do.
David and I were married in June of 2006. I am a stay-at-home mom after a long struggle with Infertility. We have been lucky on our first and second cycles of In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF)! We have a daughter, Paige Madeline, born April 23, 2009. Our twin boys, Jack David and Braley James, came on November 16, 2010.
We enjoy OU football games, family time, exercising, eating, and praising God for our wonderful blessings! Thanks for following along!
