Sunday update

Besides splash park fun (see post below!) we have been up to a lot here!

Always time for some mommy and me portraits!

Paige had her last day of school for the spring semester on Thursday!  (summer school starts in a few weeks, thankfully!)  They had a Hawaiian day.  We had no Hawaiian clothes, so we ran in to Target that morning to find a lei.  We couldn't find one, but did find this adorable Hawaiian romper for $6!  Score!

Also on Thursday was the boys 18 month well visit.  Stats:

Jack:  26 pounds.  Holy moly!  He is in the 75th%.  His height was also 75th%.  Big boy!
Braley:  21 pounds.  Bless him.  5-10th%.   His height was in the 25th%.  Such a little peanut.  I love him.

Jack is very advanced in almost all areas.  He has some two word phrases (all done!  up please!) and more words than we can even count (I'm thinking between 50 and 75 now).  He climbs up stairs just holding on the rail.  He can climb in the car and get in his car seat.  Uses a fork and spoon.  Scribbles with a crayon.  Basically kicking some serious butt.  We are thrilled.

Braley is also doing well in most areas.  Climbing up stairs just holding the rail, scribbling, using fork and spoon.  His receptive language skills are excellent.  He follows commands much better than Jack does.  **But he is very behind in expressive verbal communication.  He babbles, and expresses his wants by pointing, but only a few words that we can understand.  He says no, uh oh, and we think he is saying hello.  Our doctor was happy we have an evaluation scheduled.  At this point, I'm not sure if we will go ahead with services, since she seemed very sure that he is 100% fine, just waiting a little bit to talk (just as he did with rolling over, sitting up, crawling, and walking).  We will see what the evaluation says.  Scheduled for 6/19.  Other than that, he is doing very well!  We are very happy.

The only negative thing about the appointment was that sweet Jack has a yeast infection.  I thought it was diaper rash and had been treating it as such for the past week.   But now, we have a prescription cream, which seems to be helping.  And strict instructions to let this little guy "air out" as much as we can : )

This morning, we went to breakfast with my grandfather, Jack, as usual!

But once we are finished eating, it is time to GO!

This morning a little cold front blew in, but we didn't let that stop us from taking a walk!

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!

**I have had several people email me with stories about their late talkers, and either going on to thrive on their own, or with therapy.  I just want to say how much I appreciate this!  It is nice knowing other people have gone through this, and it makes me feel like less of a crazy person for stressing out a little over it.  So, thank you to everyone who has reached out.
